well. sometimes life just doesnt go how you think it should.

im sorry to say that i completely derailed. i went on vacation for a week and a half which is why i wasnt on the computer…and needless to say i crashed and burned. lets leave it at that.

but im back. and i will be til i reach my goal. i promise. im sorry.

hun i totally understand how frustrating it is to stop losing weight - ESPECIALLY when you were doing so well in the beginning. unfortunately, that happens to ALL people according to Jillian Michaels from The Biggest Loser…so think of it like a test. you COULD get discouraged and start letting yourself eat more, and then gain back the weight that’s making you so unhappy. OR you could do what i’ve heard is recommonded to jump start weight loss again: change up your work out routine, work out more, push yourself harder, eat even healthier. cut out all processed foods, etc. 

but before you really push yourself make sure that you want to be at that weight for YOURSELF and not for anyone else, because it won’t feel as gratifying getting through a hard spot if you are only losing weight to please other people.

it’s IMPOSSIBLE for me to not let myself have anything. i have a huge family, where everyone loves to eat and drink and eat and drink some more. so i allow myself a FEW bites of whatever unhealthy treat there is, so i don’t feel shorted and so i can avoid hurting my loved ones’ feelings for not eating what they’ve gone to the trouble of making. just drink LOTS of water (it fills you up) and eat LOTS of salad…and before you go to a dinner or party eat a small plate of apple and carrots or something similar so you’ll get to the party less hungry and less likely to snack!

YES! glad to have you aboard! and thanks, the blog title is really fitting for me because it truly is a battle against myself every day to get stuff done.

a “healthy amount of weight” depends on how much you weigh already. if you feel like you need to lose weight, but are unsure of how much you need to lose, i’d recommend Googling “BMI calculator” and pick one of the various options that come up..it’ll have you enter your weight, age, and height and it’ll give you an estimate on your body fat percentage and where it SHOULD be for your age. that way you can make your goal to be getting to the healthy BMI range for your height and age!!

people usually lose 1.5 - 2.5 lbs. per week if they work REALLY hard, but there will be weeks where you won’t lose anything. that’s because your body constantly has to readjust to your weight when you’re losing the lbs. so just be patient and ditch the sweets and sodas and add some cardio and you’ll start seeing results!!!
